The world has heard plenty about The Bahamas.
Millions of people have visited our shores, photographed our beaches, experienced our culture and returned home to tell their version of our story.
But what happens when a Bahamian leaves home and turns the camera on the rest of the world? Welcome to C4 Abroad™, a C4TheLegend original travel series documenting the countries, cities, cultures, people, food, history and experiences encountered by C4 — Clayton T. Phillips — during his travels around the world.
This time, the Bahamian is the traveller.
Long before C4TheLegend became a media platform, C4 was travelling.
Over the years, his journeys have taken him to multiple countries and destinations, through experiences connected with music, culture, martial arts, professional opportunities, personal travel and life itself.
Some journeys were taken years before anyone thought about becoming a travel-content creator.
There were photographs.
There were videos.
There were memories.
There were people met along the way.
And now, those experiences have a home.
A Bahamian Abroad™ will bring that archive together while documenting the journeys still to come.
We aren't trying to show you only the perfect hotel room, beautiful beach or expensive restaurant.
We want to experience a destination.
What do they eat?
What does their history say about them?
What does their music sound like?
What does everyday life cost?
What are their neighborhoods like?
How do they treat visitors?
What similarities do we share with them as Bahamians?
What can The Bahamas learn from them?
And perhaps just as importantly:
That's what makes A Bahamian Abroad™ different.
Travelling as a Bahamian creates a different conversation.
C4 isn't travelling the world pretending to be from somewhere else.
The Bahamas comes with him.
That means comparing food, language, music, transportation, hospitality, architecture, tourism, business, culture, history and everyday life with what we know at home.
Sometimes the differences will be enormous.
Sometimes we'll discover that people thousands of miles away aren't very different from us at all.
There will be serious conversations.
There will be history.
There will be beautiful destinations.
There will be business.
There will be culture.
And knowing C4...
there ga be plenty jokes too.
This page will become the permanent home for C4's international travel archive.
As photographs and videos from previous journeys are recovered and organized, they will be added here alongside new adventures.
Visitors will be able to explore:

The C4 Experience
The good, the unexpected, the funny—and occasionally the:
moments.
Some photographs featured here may have been taken years ago.
That's part of what makes this project important.
A photograph isn't simply a photograph.
It captures a place at a particular moment in history.
Cities change.
Businesses disappear.
Buildings are demolished.
People get older.
Technology changes.
Entire neighborhoods transform.
By publishing C4's historical travel photographs alongside modern journeys, A Bahamian Abroad™ becomes both a travel series and a growing visual archive.
Where possible, we'll identify the country, city, approximate year and story behind the photograph or video.
And when C4 returns to places visited many years ago, we may even ask:
One of the most exciting parts of A Bahamian Abroad™ won't be the buildings.
It will be the people.
C4 will ask people around the world questions about their countries—and about ours.
“What do you know about The Bahamas?”
Their answers might surprise us.
Because this series isn't only about discovering other countries.
It's also about discovering how the world sees The Bahamas.
And when somebody's entire understanding of our country is beaches, cruise ships and Nassau...
C4 might have a little explaining to do.
Wherever C4 travels, there is another mission.
Introduce people to the real Bahamas.
Our history.
Our islands.
Our entrepreneurs.
Our music.
Our Junkanoo.
Our food.
Our language.
Our personalities.
Our achievements.
Our challenges.
Our people.
Because A Bahamian Abroad™ isn't simply about bringing the world back to Bahamians.
It's also about taking Bahamians to the world.
As the C4TheLegend travel archive grows, this page will continue expanding with photographs, videos, stories, interviews, destination features and new international adventures.
Some journeys will take us thousands of miles from Nassau.
Some will reconnect us with people and places from C4's past.
Others haven't even been planned yet.
But wherever we end up, we're bringing you with us.
THE WORLD — THROUGH OUR EYES.
FROM DA SOIL. TO DA WORLD.
